Privacy policy

This policy explains how Blitz Boxing collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you use this website or send an enquiry. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

About us and this policy

Blitz Boxing is a boxing and strength coaching business based in Prestons, South West Sydney. We are committed to handling your personal information openly, honestly and securely.

Because we provide a health-related service and may hold health information about the people we coach, we treat Blitz Boxing as bound by the Australian Privacy Principles, and we follow them across the business.

If you have any questions about this policy or the information we hold about you, contact us at bryan@blitzboxing.com.au or 0411 095 186.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you choose to give us:

  • your name
  • your phone number
  • your email address
  • the type of training you are interested in
  • your preferred contact method
  • anything you write in the message field

Your message may include health information, for example if you mention an injury, a health condition or a fitness goal. Health information is treated as sensitive information and is given extra protection. Please only include health details that are relevant to your enquiry. By sending an enquiry that includes health information, you consent to us collecting and handling it for the purposes described below.

When you browse the site we also collect limited technical information such as your IP address and basic device and usage data. This comes from the services that keep the site secure and, where enabled, help us understand how the site is used.

Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
  • arrange your first session and ongoing training
  • keep the website secure and working properly
  • understand how the site is used so we can improve it

We only use your information for these purposes, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect. We will not use it for anything unrelated without your consent.

How we store and protect it

Enquiries are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and delivered to our business email inbox, which is hosted by Google. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to respond to you, provide our services, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it so other businesses can market to you. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and our business, and they only handle your information to provide their service to us:

  • Google (Workspace and Gmail) for our business email, and Google Analytics where enabled
  • Cloudflare for spam and bot protection on the enquiry form
  • Microsoft (Clarity) where enabled, to understand how the site is used
  • Square for bookings and payments

When you book or pay through Square, your booking and payment details are collected by Square under its own privacy terms, not by this website. We may also disclose information where we are required or authorised to do so by law.

Information sent overseas

Some of our providers, including Google, Cloudflare and Microsoft, store and process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where your information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the enquiry form from spam and abuse. Where enabled, we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. These services may use cookies or similar technology.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Contact us at bryan@blitzboxing.com.au or 0411 095 186 and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is normally no charge to make a request.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at bryan@blitzboxing.com.au so we can look into it and put it right.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Data breaches

If a data breach happens that is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess it and, where the law requires, notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, along with the steps you can take in response.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
